Delta, BC – June 30, 2016 – Empower Environmental Solutions Ltd., an Asphalt Shingle Recycling company, announces that an agreement has been signed with Systech Environmental Corp, a subsidiary of Lafarge with locations throughout Canada and the United States.
Systech’s mandate is to source environmentally friendly alternative fuels for the concrete/cement industry.
Systech submitted samples of recycled fibre to the British Columbia’s Ministry of Environment for analysis. The Ministry subsequently confirmed to Systech that the fibre material evaluated is an environmentally acceptable fuel source for industrial use in cement manufacturing.
Empower expects to recover between 12,000 to 15,000 tons of the fibre material per year. Under the agreement Systech will be charged based on the BTU (thermal) value of the paper fibre which is estimated at $15 to $18 per ton.
